Congratulation on your purchase of Screen Candy. The following instructions are meant to get Screen Candy up and running on your system as soon as possible. Please pay close attention to all the instructions as we want you to get the most from your new disc.
Step 1. Insert the CD into the CD drive in your PC. The CD should be inserted with the picture side facing up.
Step 2. From the Windows Program Manager, select Run from the File menu. Type "D:\INSTALL" where "D" is the drive letter corresponding to your CD ROM drive.
Step 3. Follow all on-screen instructions. Click on the "OK" button to progress beyond the opening screen. Screen Candy's installer will then ask you if you would like to install QuickTime for Windows and the Screen Candy screen saver utility. The installer will also tell you how much space you will need on your hard drive. You may then continue or re-select your options. To continue, choose "OK." Screen Candy's installer will then copy the necessary files to your hard drive. Allowing the installer to update your autoexec.bat file will give Screen Candy access to the QuickTime for Windows files. Click "OK" at the final screen and you're ready to go.
Step 4. If you installed QuickTime for Windows, it will be necessary to reboot your machine to allow the updated autoexec.bat file to be used.
Step 5. To use the Screen Candy Screen Saver, double click on the "Main" program group. Double click on the "Control Panel" icon. Double click on the "Desktop" icon. Select "Screen Candy" from the drop down list of screen savers. The setup button will allow you to choose a movie or directory of movies, double size (320x240 becomes 640 x 480) or standard size, and sound on/off.
The Screen Candy Screen Saver utility can be used with any movie. Movies can reside on hard drive, CD drive or anywhere else.
